Mrs. Spears

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Spears

 Mrs. Spears

I am a Plainville Native.  I am absolutely thrilled to be teaching my passion in the community I love so much!
I graduated cum laude from Bethany College with a major in Instrumental Music Education in 2010, and hold a music license in k-12 instrumental music as well as k-12 vocal music.
My primary instrument is the trumpet, which I studied for 2 years with Mr. Brad Dawson at FHSU and 4 years with Mr. Roger Thorstenberg and Bethany College. I sing soprano and studied voice with Mrs. Jodi Frisbie at Bethany College.  I studied conducting with Mr. Doug Talbott at Bethany College and student taught in Inman, KS.  I am proficient on a wide range of instruments and enjoy working with students developing on their instruments.  I have also had the great pleasure of marching with the Kansas Lions International Band in downtown Detroit.

My husband and I live in Plainville with our two cats (Cadey and Pippy) and hamster (Penelope).  My husband also holds a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet Performance from Bethany College  and is a Police Officer.

To me, the arts are what make us human.  Computers can play notes and rhythms and project pictures, people give them meaning and feeling.
